Background of the Study

Corporate training is a cornerstone of organizational development, equipping employees with the skills and knowledge required for business growth. Effective training programs enhance workforce competency, improve productivity, and support business expansion into new markets (Armstrong, 2023). Flour Mills, a leading agro-allied company in Nigeria, relies on its employees' capabilities to drive operational excellence and expansion initiatives.

In Bauchi State, Flour Mills faces the dual challenge of maintaining competitive advantage while exploring growth opportunities. Corporate training is crucial for addressing skill gaps, improving performance, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals (Yusuf & Adeyemi, 2024). This study investigates the role of corporate training in facilitating business expansion at Flour Mills.

Statement of the Problem

Despite the availability of training programs, Flour Mills in Bauchi State faces challenges such as inconsistent training outcomes, limited relevance to business objectives, and inadequate employee engagement. These issues hinder the organization’s ability to maximize the impact of training on business expansion (Bello & Adamu, 2025).

This study evaluates the effectiveness of corporate training programs and identifies strategies for optimizing their contribution to business growth.
